Review of Unthinkable (2007) by Mohamed H — 30 Oct 2010
I put this in my Netflix queue when I saw the cast: Carrie-Anne Moss (that's Trinity from the Matrix films), Brandon Routh (Superman reboot), Sam Jackson (duh) & Stephen Root (Milton from Office Space).
The actors manage to make it watchable, especially Carrie-Anne Moss, who I would watch if the movie was 2 hours of her peeling potatoes. The plot is setup nicely, then quickly devolves into nonstop torture schlock, and if you endure until the end, there is zero, and I mean zero payoff.
The film is obviously entering a statement on the morality of torture in post 9/11 America, but only succeeds in actually. torturing. you. If you watch it. So don't. 2 stars. Coulda been 1, but, you know, Carrie-Anne Moss.
