Despite some decent performances from the cast, specifically Chris Pine, Denzel Washington, and Rasario Dawson...I found this movie to be a little over-dramatized and melodramatic, the action is clearly staged in a way to exploit the audience.
Suddenly the train is going to hit a car filled with animals, or a train filled with school children...but these are all just cheap action sequences put in to specifically make the audience feel something, but they play only a minor part in the story after their sequence is over.
The movie is decent enough, but it doesn't feel natural, despite being "based" on true events.
