Review of Unstoppable (2004) by Jim M — 03 Aug 2009
Ex-Soldier Dean Cage suffers from combat trauma after witnessing his best friend, Scott, death on a secret mission in Bosnia. Well waiting in a dinner to meet with his girlfriend/Scott's sister his is mistaken by a group of ex-CIA Officers, who have stolen an experimental chemical weapon, for a government agent tracking them. Dean is injected with the drug, EX, in the hopes that he will let the renegades know what the government knows about their plans to sell EX on the black market. Dean has 6 hours to find the antidote before EX fry's his brain, something made difficult by EX's other effect, making him suseptable to any suggestion...
Damn, Wesley Snipes must be hard up for cash. Deceint enoough premis for an action movie but the action lacks heart or energy. Everyone puts in the bear minimium to collect their pay check and the director refuses to use suseptability to suggestion to add any humor, slapstick or dark, to the preceedings thus failing to do a damn thing to elevate this beyond the lifeless dud it is. Unless its on TV and you have nothing else to do, give this one a pass.
