Review of Unsane (2018) by Nitpicker . — 14 Aug 2018
I think Soderbergh had something here but the David character ruined it.
What I liked:
-"You gave them an in." Yeah, that's my take on the healthcare industry too.
-Everything before the David reveal was good. As someone else pointed out, the reveal is too soon.
-It's a pretty accurate take on what goes on in those places.
-Never knew it was done on iPhone, I guess that's neat, but it don't matter to me.
What I Didn't Like:
-The movie is much less interesting after David reveals himself. It also drags from that point until the end. I actually wish David wasn't in the movie at all.
-For someone who wasn't insane, she sure acted insane.
-In a real hospital, there's staff everywhere at all hours of the day and night. There's no way David would be able to bring violet to the basement without anyone knowing.
-They never explain how David was able to beat the background check, just that he did. In the real world, beating a background check for a healthcare facility is impossible. Everything about David is just too convent to this story.
