Danny The Dog is a unique martial-arts-type action film that is set apart not only by its unconventional sweetness, but also by Pierre Morel's sublime photography and seasoned performances from long-time veterans Bob Hoskins and Morgan Freeman. Additionally, Jet Li proves that he is capable (however in small doses) of a role with a tinge of emotional complexity, on top of being one of the most exciting action stars in the business.
