Donny the dog was a perfect role for Li because of his hand to hand abilities and limits in dialog. The movie probably wouldn't have worked with anyone else. It's got all the solid fight scenes that a person looks for in this type of movie, but Danny's love for piano shows the softer side of his character, leaving the audience with a little more than your average fight movie.
