Review of Unleashed (2005) by Benjamin C — 01 Oct 2009
THIS IS MY OPINION OF THE MOVIE. MAY BE TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM MOST REVIEWS.
This one is a quite dark and very sad one. And in my opinion, very different from Jet Li's normal.
The movie is about a boy named Danny(Jet) who at a young age was raised to be a litteral killer to "punish" those that wouldnt pay owed money to Danny's Master aka. Uncle(Freeman). When the person who owed money to this man, and did not pay, Danny played his role(what makes movie sad). Danny was raised to do this and this alone for his master. He was completely stripped of all he ever knew and trained to be something totally different.
Danny in the midst of his dark enprisoned like life yearns to know something so much more, things to u and me are taken for granted. Like: Family, A simple kiss, love, amonst other things as well. One is particular, Danny is most attracted to. Throughout the movie u see how this particular something gradually changes Danny's life from his all to familiar dark enprisoned life, to something of so much more wealth and beauty. Along with this, Danny seeks to discover his real past and how he came to know the dark life he came to know so well.
BOX SAYS MOVIE IS UNRATED. But I can honestly and most obviously say that this one is rated R. FOR: Harsh concept, Nudity, Two Brief Scenes Of Mature Adult Content(1st scene:1-2 min. 2nd Scene:2-3min), Very Strong Language, And Strong Violence.
Why"I "May" And "May Not" reccomend This Movie:
MAY NOT: Very mature plot! Laguage is quite strong. Two Scenes that hint at pronagraphic themes.
MAY: The importance of family, and how cherished it is one has nothing. This movie is very touching and moving in a many of ways. The fact that beauty can be brought of the most darkest of places and lives. Love for music. The showing of A Love for someone who does not understand love.
