Review of Unleashed (2005) by Conner R — 31 Jul 2010
Being There + Enter The Dragon = Unleashed.
Anyone who has seen Being There will be able to see the direct influence on this movie, and I hope they understand what a great use of the idea was. It still had all the fun and heartwarming scenes of Danny getting to grips with a world he's never known before, but mixed in with the gang violence and stunning fight scenes which is what Jet Li is really the king of at this period in time brings out a great performance that as usual makes us laugh, cringe and wonder about the fate of the human race.
First scene. BOOM straight in with the violence showing Li's stunning acrobatic abilities and how able he is to take a hit and then be able to hit back with twice as much power as his opponent.
Then we have a look at where this 'Dog' lives and obvious we're all shocked that he actually east dog food and lives in a cage despite his 'uncle' being such a heart rich man in taken in poor danny because known of his parents wanted him, or did they? Only watching this will reveal the truth...
Li's character brings the same love to our hearts as Chaucer Garden did years before in being There, and combined with strong supporting performance from freeman and Hoskins Unleashed is defiantly a great edition to my film collection.
4/5.
