Review of Unleashed (2005) by Cameron S — 22 Sep 2012
This film is easily Jet Li's best english speaking film. "Unleashed" follows Danny who has been under the "care" of his "uncle" who obly uses him as his muscle.when he goes out to collect money on a job.
The film is packed to the brim with brutal action, but the real highlight here is the story. The film progresses along with Danny figuring more and more about his mother and her killer, which culminates in an extremely well done and sad flashback sequence that shows her true fate.
The acting is superb from everyone, with Jet Li giving his best performance. The action is brutal and over the top violent, but that is used to contrast with the life he goes on to live with a blind man and his step daughter.
The film is a great one, and any fan of Jet Li should check it out.
