Review of Unknown (1972) by Ehome T — 25 Apr 2009
I totally did not know anything about this movie until I started watching it; which is rather apt, as the movie builds up on this: a bunch of people knocked out in an abandoned warehouse knowing nothing of their situation nor of their relationship with each other.
Essentially, this is a 'whodunnit' wherein you'd spend the next hour and a half wondering who's the baddie and who's the good guy. Caviezel's choice was pretty well done, as he's mild looking enough to gain your sympathy, yet play off that 'edginess' that would make you doubt your assessment of his character.
I'm also a Greg Kinnear fan and he plays the obnoxious yuppy to perfection (think Ghost Town, except he's alive, but obnoxious either way). Cypher (Joe Pantoliano) - not his character's name but rather the name I know him with from the first Matrix film is also as annoying and obnoxious (think Bad Boys).
It should be a worthwhile watch if you like murder-mysteries, and the different presentation makes things a bit more interesting. Not a bad way to spend your two hours.
