Review of Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning (2012) by James H — 25 Feb 2013
So, I open the movie rental case and there's the encouraging portrait of both Dolph Lundgren and Jean-Claude Van Damme stamped on the dvd itself.
Usually this would mean they'd be taking a major role right?
Not at all. JVD barely had any air time, except for ridiculous flash backs (which actually hurt my eyes to look at the tv), and a pathetic ending movie fight sequence between himself and low and behold, the main character of the movie (Scott Adkins). The same applies to Dolph Lundgren who was lucky enough to have a short fight sequence after some lame attempts at motivational speeches to his crew.
Let's look at the DVD cover and the DVD itself. Do you see Scott Adkins face anywhere on the front of the case, or on the disk itself. NO. You do not. You see both JVD and Dolph, both of whom barely have any role whatsoever.
I feel this is an extremely deceptive marketing tactic, used to lure unsuspecting people to watch a movie, regardless of who's actually the main character.
I feel completely duped.
