Review of United 93 (2006) by Carter Y — 21 Feb 2010
The guy who directed United 93 is the same as directed the Bourne Identity movies, and it shows. From the first scene to the last, you will be nervous and your heart will beat fasters. You will feel dread. But you will watch because the movie is so well crafted.
The story is told from the perspective of Boston air traffic control, NYC air traffic control, the FAA, Norad, and United 93 flight.
I hestitated before grabbing this DVD from the library. I didn't want to be entertained by this movie. I didn't particularly want to feel sad, either. But this is obviously not a Steven Segal fantasy movie with a good ending. So, I cannot recommend this movie to everyone. Some will find it too much to handle. But if you watch it, you won't forget it. And putting the subject matter aside, it is a very well done movie.
