Review of United 93 (2006) by Spencer H — 03 Feb 2013
United 93 is a bore for the first 50 minutes. If focuses on the point of view of the Air Traffic Controllers and Airport workers which isn't the ideal point of view wanted for a film about 9/11. Although the actors cast were perfect and the script was great, and the mood intense, it still was boring.
After that, the intensity drastically rose and never let up. The acting and script intensified as well as the plot and it became great. United 93 became hard hitting, tragic and brutal as well as somewhat inspiring. It's a great re-enactment of the event that shocked the nation, and the way it was created with unknown actors and a small budget was great. It never attempted to dramatize the situation, but rather letting the drama of the actual event inflicting it's own effect.
Overall, United 93 picks up after the first half and becomes a very intense and brutal story. It's inspiring, It's Sad, It's Shocking. It's United 93.
