Review of Unfriended (2014) by Robert F — 18 Sep 2015
A worthy addition to the 'found footage' horror genre, despite opting for the traditional gore, jump scares, and 'ghost charging the camera' cliches. There are quite a few moments of brilliance, but it makes the mistake of showing too much, resulting in moments that seem far more goofy than scary.
Still, it's a very well made horror movie, although I wish the rest of the movie could've had the subtle brilliance and suspense of the 'first murder'. I wish the rest of the movie was as subtle.
(Also, what did poor Kent do to deserve this? As far as I can tell, his only crime's having terrible friends).
