Review of Unfriended (2014) by Craig F — 22 Sep 2015
Astonishing is an understatement; did not expect something this good. It's a growing trend that the only good horror films of late are metaphorical and symbolic of more sinister realities. Spoilers, that is the case here as well, as the real horror lies in the plausibility of the online attacks.
Suicide is a problem and 'Unfriended' does an incredible job of relaying the truths that can and have driven teens to suicide. Tight script and direction with excellent performances make this the most memorable horror film I have had the pleasure of seeing since 'It Follows' and 2014's 'Oculus'.
