Review of Unfriended (2014) by Zachary M — 04 Jul 2016
I'll be honest, I've always been a sucker for real-time story telling. Be it a movie or an episode of a TV show, if the creators can put that kind of thought and work into a movie, it deserves my attention. And honestly, that is what makes this movie work.
There's a lot of; typing, re-typing, deleting, thinking about stuff before typing, all the kind of stuff we do while interacting with people online. Which added to the realism, though you can't get but so realistic when your story is about a ghost that seeks revenge on her group of friends who lead to her death because of cyber bullying.
This movie is basically a supernatural revenge flick about cyber bullying. So for anyone who has had that kind of fantasy, then this one's for you. And let's make one thing clear, everyone in this movie is a horrible person, so it's not so bad when horrible things happen to them. Yet there is just enough character, for some of them, to save it from being a total propaganda piece.
