Review of Unforgiven (1992) by Tristan M — 16 Mar 2015
I'm still new to the western genre, but thanks to movies like this and some newer ones I have been looking into the genre more. This is currently my second fav, second to 3:10 to Yuma at the moment, but there's something about the classic feel of this full that I prefer.
It has the old gun sounds, the music, picture look, and a ton of great actors. It stars the greatest western star of all time, Clint Eastwood, also directed by him, and is one of his best movies. The story is pretty close to the same as most other westerns, small town, group of bad guys, powerful sherif and plenty more.
It's a great film, still a classic and well known. It has some interesting plot twists, and one of my new favourite movie ending among my endless favourites. Memorable lines in a pretty standard script for its time, plus good acting and character development secures this film as one of the greats, only thing that brings down my rating is some small stuff, and a too casual pace.
Overall gear movie, and I will be looking for more like it.
