Review of Unforgiven (1992) by Jenna I — 12 Jul 2015
All of Clint Eastwoods movies always have this weird cheesiness to it, I can't get over it. I think it's his personal sense of humor, it's bad and it shows whenever he tries to be cute in between his serious 'badass' image.
That said, Gene Hackman owns this movie completely- it's almost too bad it doesn't revolve around him more. His story even seems separate from Clint's, especially with the whole English Bob sidestory.
I wasn't as invested as I could have been in the end, the pacing sort of under cut the suspense. But it's an enjoyable watch, one of Eastwood's better directorial projects.
