Review of Undisputed III: Redemption (2010) by Zahid M — 10 Sep 2010
Undisputed III: Redemption is the third installment to the 2002 action film Undisputed. The film stars Scott Adkins, Mykel Shannon Jenkins, Mark Ivanir and Hristo Shopov, and was directed by Isaac Florentine.
Russian inmate Boyka, now severely hobbled by the knee injury suffered at the end of Undisputed 2. No longer the feared prison fighter he was, he has declined so far that he is now good only for cleaning toilets. But while underground businessmen start a new prison fight tournament called PFC - an international affair, matching the best fighters from prisons around the globe, enticing them with the promise of freedom for the winner - Boyka must reclaim his dignity and fight for his position in the tournament. Boyka defeats the new local champion in Chornya Cholmi, Russia - Maximum security prison and is of to Georgia for the PFC tournamnt.
When Boyka arrives in Georgia, the 8 fighters meet each other and represents different styles of martial arts from Taekwondo to Capoeira. Coutries are North Korea, Croatia, Greece, France, Russia, Brazil, USA and Colombia.
I thought this film was great. I was happy that they made this movie and based it on the Yuri Boyka character. It was nice to see Scott Adkins return to play him, cause nobody could do it better. I hope to see him doing more action movies in the future with the lead cause he got the skill in my books. It was also nice seeing Mark Ivanir return as Gaga, I think he's a great actor. This goes out to Mykel Shannon Jenkins who I thought was alright in this film, his character was funny. Stay away from the soap operas cause you got some skill and would like too see him in more action movies. And last but certainly not least is Director Isaac Florentine great job, keep it up, your movies get better and better evey time.Keep making them, we will watch. OH YEA, almost forgot the fight scenes kicked ass. I could see why this film won Best Director Award and Best Fight Choreographer in the 2010 edition of ActionFest. So BIG thumbs up from me!!!! Check it out.
