Review of Undisputed III: Redemption (2010) by Deb S — 01 Jun 2010
Scott Adkin, the lethal Weapon XI in X-Men Origins: Wolverine) returns as Russian inmate Boyka in a spin-kicking, iron-fisted, ground-and-pound fury of martial arts mastery. Boyka, now severely hobbled by the knee injury suffered (am assuming from Undisputed 2) is no longer the feared prison fighter he was, and has been relegated to cleaning toilets. He longs to be back in the ring again to prove that he's still "worth something." Boyka's warden, Gaga (Mark Ivanir), who knows his abilities, enters him in the contest, and off they go to Georgia, along with fighters from North Korea, Croatia, Greece, France, Brazil, Columbia, and the U.S.A. Of Boyka's competitors, the main ones are "Turbo" (Mykel Jenkins), a well - oiled cocky American fighting machine, and Dolor (Marko Zaror), the tournament favorite from Colombia.
Although the odds against him are overwhelming, Boyka endeavors to take on the syndicate his way. The fight scenes are incredible with the fighters practically killing each another in their bouts, with apparently very few rules and no holds barred. There is a referee involved, but I'm not sure what his function is except to stay out of the way of the fighters. This movie is a must see for all action fans and Scott Atkins kicks some serious butt with just one knee.
"F**k cholesterol....winning makes me hungry!".
