Review of Undiscovered (2005) by Jpaul M — 22 Jan 2008
I didn't know what to expect from this movie. I chose to record it on my DVR simply because I kept hearing about it. Plus, the lead actor is cute. I was weary about it because Ashlee Simpson was in it. However, I ended up really liking it, and Ashlee's performance--contrary to her singing on SNL--was believable and (dare I say) enjoyable.
The movie centers around a struggling musician who moved from NYC to LA to try and make it big, the group of friends that surround him, and his love interest--the woman he met at a New York subway, who is a model turned actress. It sounds almost cliche--actually, it is--but it was very well executed. Even though I knew how things were going to end up, I still enjoyed watching how things unraveled. Oh, not to mention that there was the *schwing* factor--Steven Strait.
