Review of Underworld: Evolution (2006) by Edgardo R — 22 May 2011
Great overall th eproblem is the family feud is tiresome and lacks any real grip. I found it ever so annoying that Jacobi's character dies such a dishonorable death. The writing was obviously centered on Serlene and thus the weakness of the characters background.
It is a great tale of modern gothic legends but I can't help but notice that movies have entered a very repetitive patern that is sickenning me to the bone. I'm talking specifically about the heroe ( or heroine in this movie) defeats all of his opponents withease no matter who it is. Thus other characters even though they are stronger are shuned and forgotten and killed in the main characters wake. According to the film Jacobi's character is the strongest ever but he gets killed by his son who's weaker than him because of his love for him. Now that's a lame excuse to just kill Jacobi and get Serlene to aquire the power to fight agianst Marcus. The movie is repetitive in this sense but still it has some very original backstory that any fantasy fan will love.
