Review of Underworld: Evolution (2006) by Jon B — 02 Jan 2012

I didn't like this one as much as the original. I still love Kate Beckinsale's and Scott Speedman's characters, but some of the new editions to this one weren't as awesome. I truly did miss having Michael Sheen in the movie. The action and effects are still quite good. I just found myself a little more bored with this one. I was frequently checking the time to see how much longer there was till I'd be done. Regardless, it was reasonably enjoyable.

There was one random scene that really impressed me and I feel the need to mention it - it's not a spoiler. So there's a sex scene and I really thought it was surprisingly good. I mean, it was steamy and hot, but tactful. There was full nudity and yet, no actual genitalia or breasts were seen. That takes skill and some really good directing. So yea, it was a pretty awesome scene - as odd that is for me to mention.

What did this movie teach me? Sex scenes can be beautiful.
