Review of Underworld: Evolution (2006) by Master Xi-Ying W — 14 Feb 2013
As I am a big fan (but not fanatic) of scary movies, I found this sequel to be just a tad disappointing. Then again, most sequels are.
I really loved the Giant Bat Dude and wish they wouldn't have killed him off so soon (saved him for Underworld III). It was fun watching how he dispatched his various victims.
The annoying part was how the Leading Man and the Leading Lady alternated between Protector and Protected -- meaning sometimes the Vamp-Wolf Dude looked looked like a weakling needing Spandex-Girl's undivided, and other times, Spandex-Girl was the babbling baby needing a diaper change. Sarcasm aside, I found this role switching to be unconvincing and contrived.
Ah, but the juicy Sex Scene more than made up for it!
