Review of Underworld: Blood Wars (2016) by Corey D — 26 Dec 2016
It seems that Underworld series continues to undergo the same tired old cliches that have been going for the last decade. As the movie carries on it's fight generically which is even a challenge for first time director Anna Foerster but while Kate Beckinsale gets constantly caught in the films nonsensical revenge plot with the same generic fight sequences there are a couple of notable differences; firstly there is a training sequence with Selene (Beckinsale as the coach, secondly we are taken to a Nordic coven surrounded by picturesque snow-covered mountains with the inhabitants wearing nice soft white furs, which frankly takes us away from the the familiar black and blue colour palette.
But unfortunately the series still doesn't make any sense and adds yet another - seemingly futile attempt to add new fans to the series. Also it seems that a sixth movie is inevitable with Blood Wars' open-ended denouement, will this series ever end? 2/5.
