Review of Underworld: Blood Wars (2016) by Tammie T — 18 Feb 2017
Latest of the now-5 Underworld movies: a series that seemed (like most) to go dramatically downhill afther the first couple, and that also has the completely unnecessary (and non Kate-Beckinsale starring) 'Underworld: Rise of the Lycans' prequel stuck in the middle.
FOr any who don't know: the films all deal with the ongoing war between the Vampires (of which Kate Beckisnale's character of Selene is one) and the Lycans (or Werewolves) who, historically, guarded the Vampires during the days but were treated as slaves by them.
As the series went on, of course, Selene would find out that the histroy she had been taught wasn't the full thing ...
And the biggest problem with this, I felt, was that it assumed knowledge of the events of the previous entries. Well, that, and the fact that as most of it (necessarily) takes place at night it's often quite hard to make out who who is and just what is going on ...
