Review of Underworld: Awakening (2012) by Francisca M — 08 Sep 2012
I do enjoy the Underworld Series. This time around it was average. I didn't see the Lycan twist. I didn't like it and it seemed expected. I did enjoy the daughter bit but it was too convoluted with the genetics of it all.
Kate Beckinsale did great as Selene as usual. There was more fighting and she was violent. I'm assuming they want to make another one because of how the film ended and the way the story "progressed".
However, they shouldn't because the allure of the first films are gone because everything has changed. They are hunted down like a disease and now there's a hybrid offspring. Are they going to populate the Earth or fight back or what? It just seems pointless.
I enjoyed watching the film because I love lycan and vampires but the history is gone. Even the scene with the Coven was average and more so her resuscitation of David. There's a lot of unexplained things that no one bothers giving a story on.
Overall, an average action film.
