Review of Underworld (2003) by Hatti L — 01 Feb 2012
Underworld provides a new and exciting vision of Vampire and Lycan mythology that's both smart and entertaining. In the centuries long war between Vampires and Lycans, the tide is about to turn as the Lycans near the completion of a secret plan to gain dominance.
With a cast that includes Kate Beckinsale, Michael Sheen, and Bill Nighy, the film is packed with compelling performances; especial Beckinsale who owns this film and proves to be a convincing action hero.
The mythology is quite intriguing; with differing Vampire clans and hierarchies, and a complex interconnected origin shared by Vampires and Lycans. Underworld is a strong action/adventure film that has a compelling story and some great performances.
