Review of Underworld (2003) by Nay Nay B — 10 Jul 2011
Underworld must be a cult classic because I loved it. I respect non CG horror effects and the underworld series has some of the best and most practical looking werewolves from any horror movie. I can make a guess that the critics hate it for the acting.
the two leads (speedman and beckinsale) are dreadfully bad. but there is a mythos here that makes the movies one of a kind. I might be the only one I know who has these feelings but dammit this was my post-matrix geek outlet and it created a world of its own, the only problem is a glaring one, the dialogue can't be pulled off and the product is robotic acting and a lack of us caring much.
it's an action-horror movie at heart though and no one can say it's unoriginal without picking fights that aren't there.
