Review of Underworld (2003) by Anonymous W — 26 Jun 2011
I, for one, absolutely love the Underworld films with an intense passion. I like both vampires and werewolves, and seeing both of them, almost cliche free in one place is a horror fans (yes, I know this isn't really a horror film, but still) wet dream come true.
When this first came out, I actually thought that vampires were cool once again, and I especially love the way the two sides are presented. The vampires are the undead bourgeoisie and the werewolves are the gritty bums living in the sewers.
I also really liked the creature effects, the werewolf transformation being an absolute favorite of mine. I possess a blind love for these fims; while it may be easy to see how they might be critical failures, I can't help but to feel emotion for them.
And Kate Beckinsale in tight leather? Yow.
