Review of Underworld (1996) by Stuart D — 01 Nov 2013
Two households, both alike in canine teeth,.
In Gothic Budapest, where we lay our scene,.
From ancient grudge break to new pointy teeth,.
Where civil blood makes a hybrid, so unclean.
From forth the fatal bites of these two foes.
A pair of star-crossed lovers take their life,.
Whose misadventured piteous overthrows.
Doth with their death dealing, cause a lot of strife.
The fearful passage of their death-marked love.
And the continuance of the immortal's rage,.
Which but their children?s end, naught could remove,.
Is now the two-hours? traffic available on DVD;.
The which if you with patient ears attend,.
What here shall miss, our toil shall strive to mend, in a sequel.
My apologies to William Shakespeare, but Underworld is nothing but Romeo and Juliet, with pointier teeth. An enjoyable diversion and apart from the actor that portrays Michael Corvin, all put in watchable performances.
