Review of Underwater (2020) by Darkbloodshed13 — 22 Jan 2020
Underwater is horror movie directed by William Eubank and is about members of an underwater drilling crew who after their rig is nearly destroyed have to walk across the ocean floor to get to safety, however there seems to be more than just fish out there with them.
This a good example of a movie knowing exactly what it's audience wants and how to achieve it. From the concept alone you know your in for some B-movie style horror and the film doesn't waste time and gives you just that.
The acting is also pretty solid especially the performance given by Kristen Stewart, who plays our main character Nora. Plus the film just looks amazing it captures the darkness of the bottom of the ocean wonderfully.
However the film has one major problem, that being it's story is bland and almost non-existent and the set up is vary stereotypical. Yet this doesn't bother me. I have no explanation for this other than the fact that I like horror movies like this.
In conclusion if you like horror than you could do worse than this film.
