Review of Underground (1941) by Allan C — 26 Nov 2015
Okay WWII anti-Nazi picture, telling the story of the underground movement of good Germans trying to thwart the Nazi government. Although the film is well done and has a nice amount of suspense, it just sat weird with me that Nazis are being portrayed as evil monsters for silencing dissident voice, completely ignoring the extermination of the Jewish population.
Although the holocaust was not widely know at the time, I suppose you could forgive the filmmakers, but it's something that dates the film and, at least for me, hurt the film. Vincent Sherman directed.
