Review of Under the Skin (2014) by Valcankrull — 03 Jul 2015
I wanted to like this but couldn't. It felt like Jonathan Glazer had just watched the last 30 minutes of Stanley Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey" and George Lucas's college short "THX-1138" and decided to make this on a dare.
I understood what was happening by the end of the film but it took too long to get there and left out so much of the narrative from the book that you end up with a hollow film.
