Review of Under the Same Moon (2007) by James G — 16 Jul 2008

Hopefully this movie will shed a little light on why people risk so much to come here. It doesn't really show just how tough things are in Mexico, but you can only do so much with 2 hours of footage.

My only problem with the film was the gratuitous scene of two of the lead actors getting picked up while hitch-hiking by none other than Los Tigres Del Norte. I just thought that the idea of them catching a ride with one of the most vocal of Mexican bands on the issue of illegal immigration was just a little too gratuitous and detracts from the audience's ability to suspend disbelief and accept the events as real.
