Review of Under the Same Moon (2007) by Alex Lupita A — 13 Oct 2012
It's about family wanting to be together. Both mother and son learn from their mistakes. Strong child role. He takes charge and embarks on an adventure that takes real courage. Cinematic language was good.
Some parts the lighting was a little dark. I liked the ending a lot but I won't spoil it. There had to be real sacrifice made and a lot of moments of being so close yet so far. Good cultural value touching on hispanic issues.
I know a lot of people who share similar stories. Overall good story with tense moments, some good laughs (I would have like a few more), and heartbreaking self sacrifice.
