Review of Under The Piano (1996) by D M — 13 Sep 2008
This had some very fine performances and a sensitive treatment of the premise. There was a little too much going on for ninety minutes--and, deeply as I adore Teresa Stratas, it almost seemed like she needed her own movie.
But the premise was interesting and is not often treated with such seriousness. I especially apprecated that it was not (Stratas notwithstanding) a thoroughgoing emotional potboiler.
