Review of Under the Gun (2016) by Tom T — 05 Jun 2016
Most of the review on this film are highly misleading. It's obvious that it's aroused emotions and backlash, but that's certainly not bad. I've seen "Under the Gun" with a large audience, and there was hardly a dry eye in the house. It's difficult to get a message out these days from all of the citizens who have been harmed, directly and indirectly, by the lack of reasonable and intelligent gun regulation in this country.
The reason those citizens' voices are hampered is because of information suppression by the gun lobby and fans who are driven by unreasonable fear propagandized to them . . . fear that is nonsense, but highly powerful in clouding gun owners' judgment.
This documentary needed to happen, and it's long overdue. It deals with nothing more than facts. Do NOT avoid it because of the dominant reviews here . . . they've been contrived and staged for our benefit. Awareness in a real democracy comes from listening to all sides. When fear drives avoidance, our democracy goes down, like the Titanic.
It took real courage for Ms. Couric to organize and endorse this movie. Please give her and all of the victims she represents a chance to be heard over the din of the gun lobby!
