This is considered by most as Steven Seagal's best film and the peak of his action hero status. This is a genuinely good action films and isn't far behind the Die Hard's and Lethal Weapon's.

Sadly this film doesn't feature much of the usual Seagal trademark aikido sequences, but the action is great none the less. One thing this Seagal film does boast for the first and only time is a good cast featuring big names.

Tommy Lee Jones and Gary Busey take up villain duties and both put in good performances. Director Andrew Davies also directed Seagal's first film 'Nico (Above the Law)' and both these films are regarded as Seagal's best pieces and are both personally my favourites.

Sadly Seagal didn't progress from the success of this big budget success and his career went from bad to worse. But regardless of his negative reputation, Steven Seagal remains a true action hero of the 80's and 90's golden era and Under Siege holds its own as a strong action film.
