Review of Undead (2003) by Amy C — 03 May 2010
I love Undead. Love it. The concept is just so wrong, but it is actually very, very right. Undead is original. The acting isn't anything to get excited about, but every sscene offers something different. When the meteors first started falling and one hits the old lady, i'm ashamed to say it amused me greatly. The gory scenes are not overdone which prevents the film feeling too jocular.
It is hard to understand why Undead recieved tons of negative reviews. You have to consider the amount of dedication that went into its creation. I will admit though that a lot of ideas are entwined in the film, making it a somewhat odd conglomeration of parts. In my opinion, Undead is not understood by most viewers, which is a great shame. A very overlooked zombie genre gem. Overall, Undead is one I would certainly recommend to fans of the zombie genre, especially people who like Shaun of the Dead.
