Review of Uncle Buck (1989) by Michael V — 04 Apr 2010
A great comedy.
Uncle Buck is a classic 80's comedy. Another film made by John Hughes, it stars John Candy as Buck Russell, the last guy in the world you would want to watch your kids.
When Bob Russell and Cindy must rush back to their home state of Indianapolis to see Cindy's father, who suffered a heart attack, they run out of options when they have to find someone to watch their children. They are forced to call in Bob's brother, Buck Russell, a slob who drinks and smokes. He has no job, is always gambling to make money and is at ends with his girlfriend Chanice. He also has to deal with his teenage niece Tia, who is upset at her parents for moving them to Chicago.
Filled with laughs, Uncle Buck truly does deserve a fresh rating.
