Review of Uncharted (2022) by Igknightthefire — 24 Feb 2022
This could've turned out a lot worse. Sure its incredibly generic and mis cast. But there is still fun to be had with the film. It picks and chooses small elements from all the games its from and doesn't do too much all at once so as to not overwhelm casual audiences.
As a massive fan of the gaming franchise, the little nods to the games where very welcomed and much appreciated. The script features basic character development, but the dialogue is awful. I can't really say its a good script therefore.
The pacing is uneven, we start in an action scene so we spend the next hour just eagerly anticipating that action scene to return, we lose track of everything else because its not what we care about. Holland and Walberg do have chemistry, even if they aren't right for the roles.
Can't say I look forward to the future of this franchise, and whilst I stand behind the fact that this is not a good film. Atleast it can be entertaining one, and there is a lot worse it could've done.
