Review of Unbroken (2014) by Charles P — 19 Jun 2016
Just saw this and thought it was terrific. The book has far more information so the film had to choose just a portion of the story to tell, otherwise it would have been a 6 hour film. It was brilliantly acted and directed.
The POW camp scenes, especially, were powerful. There were many brilliantly filmed scenes of great breadth. Normally, I'm not a fan of war films, but this is more the story of one many triumph over tremendous adversity.
Many, many powerful scenes, both visually and emotionally. I don't understand the harsh reviews by critics. This is really an outstanding film, and Jolie and cast should have gotten the credit they deserve.
Don't miss this film. And read the book, which is riveting.
