Review of Unbroken (2014) by Daniel B — 21 Jan 2015
Unbroken was brilliant. While the story covers this Louis's ability to overcome a lot of oppression, the real story is of how he got to go to battle and the anguish of another on him for not being able to battle.
If you personally know or knew of anyone to get through a prisoner of war experience, then you will appreciate this film even more. This movie extends beyond just entertainment, but struck a cord in me regarding the survival and perseverance of a young soldier through some harsh experiences.
The fact that he attempts to meet his capture after the conflict and that he still succeeded in running in Japan as part of the kick-off of the Olympics and was not bitter for missing the Olympics, just shows the amazing power of his soul.
What an inspiring movie!!!
