Review of Unbroken (2014) by Jennifer B — 24 Jan 2015
The amazing story of a life of endurance and survival, starting with a young lad, Louis Zamperini, motivated by a close friend to become an Olympic champion, then a World War II pilot hero, followed by 47 days in the ocean surviving from his plane being downed, and ending in a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp with its mindless brutalities, is an epic well-told by director Angelina Jolie, with its clear positive message of the triumph of the human spirit over adversity, and is a must-see for all cinema goers who like theme-based dramas.
