Review of Unbroken (2014) by Timothy D — 29 Nov 2015
After finding the book very inspiring I had much interest in seeing this. Sadly, it came across as a cheap, made-for-TV attraction that lost the depth and spirit of the source material. Zamperini's life story would be hard to whittle down into a 2-hour flick, but I think this missed the mark of what could have been.
I'll add that it has been a long time since a musical score added so much to my frustration with a movie. I found it distracting is so many scenes that I wish I could have turned it off and watched the film without.
