Review of Unbroken (2014) by Jake M — 16 Mar 2016
This movie was so close to being great but it fell short on so many levels. I appreciate the whole first half of this film. Watching Zamperini's childhood and his success in the olympics were all done well.
But watching his struggle in the Japanese camps dragged way too long! And we never get to see how his life was like after the war! He became a missionary and went back to Japan to forgive the people who tortured him.
That would have been a very powerful message of loving your enemies. Again, it was so close but still so far of being a memorable film.
