Review of Unbreakable (2000) by Ranzel V — 04 May 2017
I don't know... It felt rather long and quiet and not as engaging as I thought--and many critics have claimed--it would be. While the story was enough to keep me going during the early two-thirds of the film, it wasn't exactly spectacular but rather it came out dragged too long for comfort. It wasn't until the third act when things got tense and finally picked up its pace. Also, the trademark plot twist that M. Night Shyamalan pulls off in the films he directs was kind of weird in this case and was admittedly weak. Is it being naive of me to not appreciate this film? Am I not giving this enough credit? I don't know, but this is my honest opinion about it.
Score: 3/5.
