Review of Unbreakable (2000) by Samantha J — 08 Sep 2012
I really don't think it's fair to compare everything M. Night Shyamalan does to The Sixth Sense. It was a great movie, don't get me wrong, but give him a chance to explore his creativity! That being said, I loved this movie! My husband told me that I probably wouldn't like it, but it was quite the opposite. I thought Bruce Willis was amazing, Samuel L Jackson was great too! The chemistry between the actors was brilliant.
So why am I not giving this five stars? I don't like unreasonably drawn out suspense sequences (when he's in the house, right before he's pushed into the pool), and the character of his son disturbed me. **spoiler**Why did the kid try to shoot his father? I don't understand Shyamalan's choice in this matter (if he wrote it). It didn't make sense.
Other than those issues though, I liked the movie overall.
