Review of Unbreakable (2000) by David W — 19 Nov 2015
Could have been a super film but seems contrivance is it's kryptonite.
Seriously, Willis' one weakness presents itself a lil too conveniently on his first hero outing. In all of the thousands of comics from the dawning of time, how many feature the hero getting kicked off a balcony into a pool of water? None, because no hero's Achilles Heel is water! And seriously who wouldn't remember EVER getting sick... you never wondered how it felt? You never competed with lifting anything heavy? And why did Jackson have a glass cane? He went to see Wright or was she coincidentally assigned to him? I'm pretty sure the latter is how it works.
For a brilliant director/writer he has too many ridiculous moments.
